Konstantina Alexaki

Post Doc

Dr Konstantina Alexaki is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Stratakis Lab within the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser at the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IESL-FORTH). She received her BSc Degree in Physics from the University of Crete, Greece in 2017. During the undergraduate programme, she joined the Ultrafast Laser Micro and Nano Processing Laboratory at IESL-FORTH where she investigated the interaction of ultrafast laser pulses with two-dimensional materials. Throughout her doctoral studies, she joined the Functional Nanomaterials and Applications Laboratory at the University of Southampton performing research on the design of nanomaterials for oligonucleotide detection. In 2022, she graduated with a PhD in Physics from the University of Southampton and subsequently rejoined the Ultrafast Laser Micro and Nano Processing Laboratory at IESL-FORTH. Her primary research interests include the chemical synthesis, characterisation, and surface functionalisation of nanostructures tailored for applications in biomedical sensing.
